Shady Acres offers close access to a variety of events and attractions in the Mobile Bay area. One of the biggest attractions in Mobile, the USS Alabama Battleship, is only 10 minutes away. Bellingrath Gardens, the next most popular attraction, is 30 minutes away. It's 25 minutes from the regional airport, 5 minutes from the downtown Mobile Convention and Civic Center, and less than an hour from Dauphin Island and the rest of the Gulf Shore area and casinos. With our convenient boat ramp, small boats can launch onto the Dog River from the campground, or fishermen can fish for striped bass, bream, catfish, redfish, gar, and speckled trout right off the campground pier. The Mobile area is a haven for fresh and salt water fishing and boating. Visitors are only a few minutes from the Gulf of Mexico where sailing, open sea fishing are open year around. Or come for the many fishing tournaments, such as the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo. Shady Acres Campground features large pull-thru sites and back-in sites to accomodate all sizes of trailers and motor homes. The 92 shady and open sites can be found in this open forest campground, filled with oak and pine trees. Large rigs are welcome, and 20, 30, and 50 AMP electricity, cable-tv, water and sewer are available on every site. Free Modem and WIFI Service To help you stay in touch while you travel, Shady Acres Campground offers free modem hookups and WIFI services. The free wireless access allows you to sit in your trailer or motor home and surf the Internet and get your email easily.
