Cane Patch Camping is a campground or RV park located in Wise.
The Clinch Ranger District operates four campgrounds in the Jefferson National Forest. Camping off designated impact pads or in non designated areas is prohibited. To Prevent overuse of park facilities each campsite is limited to a maximum of eight people and three motorized vehicles (includes camper/RV). Due to limited parking space only one camping unit (trailer, motor home, etc.) is allowed each site. All tents must be placed on the designated impact areas. In addition, to allow everyone a chance at the "favorite" campsites, a 21-day limit for camping on National Forest land is enforced. The Cane Patch Camping Area is located in Wise, Virginia, 6.5 miles west of Pound. It is the only developed campground at the North Fork of Pound Lake and is in walking distance to the Phillips Creek swimming area. There are also many large open areas for games. Cane Patch is on a flat at the end of the North Fork of Pound Lake at an elevation of 1600 feet. Most of its units are open and grassy and many trees line the edge of the lake as well as the adjacent hills.
