Illinois was recognized as a state, by the United States of America in 1818. Although Illinois has had a turbulent history, today it is without doubt a land of diversity and prosperity. Illinois was also home to President Abraham Lincoln and his wife Mary Todd Lincoln. It was here that this great leader began his career in politics. After trying his hand a several different jobs, Lincoln ran for the Illinois Senate seat. He lost. However, the election and debate he participated in caught the attention of the Republican National Party and he was soon nominated and elected as President of the United States.

All campsites have electric hookups, 16 campsites are full-hookup, and the campground offers a dump station, hot showers, flush toilets, and drinking water in order to provide a comfortable camping experience for guests.
