Shorebirds Campground, in Cape May County, has a small number of campers on large, quiet campsites--just 66 sites on 28 acres, half of the property being wooded with hiking trails, a fishing pond and lots of wildlife and birds. This is a safe, serene place where people can have an affordable summer home at the Jersey shore. Most sites are rented by the season, with a few kept for overnight rentals. This is not a resort ~~~ there are no "organized activities" or blaring loudspeakers announcing events or even a game room with clanging pinball machines and noisy music. This is a neighborhood of campers. Location is the main attraction here ~~~ just ten minutes from either Ocean City or Sea Isle City, near all the seashore amusements: the beaches and boardwalks, fishing, crabbing, shops, miniature golf, antique stores . . and . . great birdwatching! In addition to our oversize trailer sites we maintain the best tent camping sites close to the Jersey Shore. They are tucked into a shady quiet patch of woods near the fishing pond, just a short walk from the bathhouse but separated from the trailer sites. They include picnic tables and fire rings. A quiet rural residential area surrounds Shorebirds Campground. Just a few blocks down Stagecoach Road there's a public park with a huge playground, tennis courts and ball fields. Groceries, WaWa, gas and propane are nearby. Good crabbing and saltwater fishing spots are close, too. Just ask for directions and suggestions! A refreshing swimming pool with sundeck and kiddies pool is by the campgrounds entrance. The campers clubhouse, "The Seagull's Nest", has comfortable indoor seating, television, card tables, tourist information and public telephone.
